Project Life

The Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School, this year strives to make a sustainable difference to the society helping an area of the community in dire need.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has become a major health problem in rural Sri Lanka. Over 22,000 deaths from the disease have been recorded in the Anuradhapura District in the North Central Province since CKD was first identified in 1991. It is known to be caused mainly by harmful chemicals used in farming and paddy cultivation, contaminating the waterways, which is consumed by people of this area.

The Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School initiated a project targeting young children of the slum area of Koombi Kale in Kirulapone. It mainly focuses on educating the underprivileged students in this area, and this project commenced in October 2019.

Christmas Smiles

Sometimes, we can do no great things, only small things with love and often we realise the best way to make ourselves happy is by giving an opportunity for someone else to have a smile on their face.

With this concept in mind, the Rotaract Club of Achievers Lanka Business School initiated its signature community service project "Christmas Smiles" which involved the club members visiting an orphanage and spending the whole day with the kids there around the season of Christmas, in keeping with it’s true spirit of love and giving. This was done in the hope that the day spent will give them memories they can cherish for a lifetime.
